I grabbed this meme from Kyra - I needed something to write about to get back into practice, so I'll see if I can think of 8 things about myself...

Rules: Each person posts the rules before their list, then they list 8 things about themselves. 1) I love animals - horses, dogs and cats are my favourites, but I also love reading about and watching documentaries on wild animals. One thing I do not like are birds - birds freak me out a little bit.

2) I'm in the process of buying my own horse. I have a good prospect that I really like. I'll post more about it later. It's very exciting and a little bit nerve-racking at the same time. I'll be boarding it at a little farm about 20 mins from my house.

3) I was in the military for a few years. I spent time in the naval reserve while in university - it was the best summer job going - sure beat working at the grocery store!

4) I can speak French pretty well. I definitely understand/read much better than I speak. Nothing like a nice anglo accent. hhaahaha. My favourite site in French - Tete a claques.

5) I have a unversity degree in Political Science and Russian - I now work for the government as a webmaster. Good thing I have that degree!

6) I'm an avid reader - books, magazines, web sites. I'm in a bit of a slump lately though - can't seem to find anything too gripping to read. So, I've decided to leave fiction for a bit and pick up some environmental books - Canadian activist David Suziki has several books that I've been meaning to read.

7) I'm left-handed, but cope quite well in the world of right-handed people.

8) I like cycling. I have a nice bike that I don't ride enough. I like watching pro cycling even with all the doping scandals...
