8 things to do before I die...

Wow - two posts in one day - how exciting. *yawn*

I thought I'd do another meme - it's what all of the cool kids are doing. I picked this one up from the lovely ginger-haired Shauna over at the Amazing Adventures of Diet Girl.

This one is simple - just post a list of 8 things you'd like to do before you bite the bullet. A little gloomy perhaps, but hey, it's Monday morning and about to RAIN AGAIN. At least I'm stuck inside at work.
  1. Learn to jump well enough to go the local hunts and/or try the hunter paces. I would love to take a paint or another kind of non-traditional horse to an event that is steeped in tradition - there's a teeny bit of rebel in me. Not that paints aren't everywhere these days...
  2. Take a horse riding vacation somewhere exotic - like Peru
  3. Spend a season in Europe - spring in Paris or summer in London or maybe a small village - just to experience life there for longer than a week. Too bad we sold the family chalet in Gstaad. (har har, I kid.)
  4. Cycle around Italy - not sure why exactly, but it seems like a good thing to put on a list like this.
  5. Have a baby - whoa - that's a big one eh? Thought I'd slip that in to make sure everyone is paying attention. I'm turning 34 soon, so I'd better get on this one in the near future. Preferably not while I'm learning to jump. ;-p
  6. Okay - this one is cheesy - make sure to enjoy time with the hubby every day and not take our great relationship for granted. Who knows what the future may hold, so I want to make sure to enjoy it as much as I can
  7. Learn to manage my finances and save $$ so I could actually have a chance at affording to do some of the things on my list!
  8. Another tough one - lose weight and get back in shape so that I don't have to worry about getting the things on this list done right away. I owe it to myself to take better care of my health - that is a long-term (hopefully) plan.

Ok - I don't really like tagging people, so I'll tag a couple and the rest of you, consider yourselves tagged if you want to participate...

Cdncowgirl and Twinville always seem up for a good meme! :-)

I'll get on it this evening Laura (how well you know me already! lol)

Now to your list:
Kimfer and I are planning #2 for NEXT year in Sept. but she may have to back out :( - hey wanna meet in RL then, in Greece?!

I've never traveller, really. But there's tons of places in EU that I'd love to see.

I'm 34 too!! Babyless, and probably going to stay that way. But I'm a FAB aunt to my 2 nephews and 1 niece, soon to be one more... not sure if nephew or niece.

6,7,8... same boat here.

Thanks Shauna!

Cdn - atta girl! I knew you'd step up and take care of anothe meme! lol

Hmmm - Greece eh? I'll have to think about that. I could be persuaded, I'm sure, as long as the baby thing doesn't get in the way. The timing on that hasn't been worked out just yet. I'd like to ride my horse for a few months before I have to stop! :-)

Sounds neat - I will get on this next week...this week is a tab busy, but will shoot for next week...

I always avoid horse riding while traveling - most "rent a horse" stables I have come across have not met my standards of horse care and I usually end up getting mad at them or inadvertently insulting them with tid bit or two of horsey knowledge.

So I just avoid it all together. Maybe its a flakey thing to do but saves me some stress and money.

The Greece trip is through a very reputable company and from their website the horses look well cared for.
There are some bad places, and I feel bad seeing those horses that are skin and bones with no light left in their eye. :(

Kimfer may have a scheduling problem, she's applied to go to school for EMT so our trip depends on when she's in school (there's a wait list)

Sounds like a pretty good list to me.

I really, really need to get my passport. I would love to travel, especially now that Megan is old enough to remember the places we go. I'm very fortunate because my honey used to travel the world, he worked international in the oilfield. He is familiar with most of the major airports and knows how to navigate in strange places. Major bonus.

Oh man, Laura! You are so naughty tagging me for this meme! hehe

I somehow usually fly below the radar on meme's. But I can't hide from you, friend! :)

I am interested in juts about all of your 8 things. I'd be happy biking across a few countries, riding horses in unique and beautiful places, and losing some weight and getting in shape.

The baby-thing, though, not so much.
I'm done with that, girlfriend! I had my first TWO at 30. And then had my third at 35. I'll be 42 yrs old in a couple weeks, so the baby-making days for me are over. :)

But I'll be cheering you on in your reproducing efforts, k?
Maybe my twinsome will rub off on you?
It's not that bad. You get too babies for a single effort! :)
hehe

I'll get working on my meme by the weekend.

Oh geez, now you have me wanting to go riding in Peru!! I wonder if most people who go on those equestrian vacations actually know how to ride?

I'm with you on #6, too. I was just recently thinking how lucky I am.

Cannot respond to the babies one because the thought or reproducing sends me into an icky cold sweat. People tell me this will change soon but I hope not. For YOU, though, I wish a round happy baby who grows up to be horse crazy. :)
