1) Rusty's eyes seem to be doing ok - bute and wearing a fly mask seem to be keeping things under control. As long as they don't get as bad as last year, we'll be ahead of the game...
2)I bought a new saddle pad for my western saddle and I think it is super - I caved and spent the money on a Thinline felt western pad. It is grey felt, with a thinline pad sewn in the top. I think it really does absorb some shock. I'm a bit of a bouncy rider and I think it was making Rusty even more grumpy than usual. I've ridden twice with it (with a wool blanket on top) and it really seems to make a difference. So, here's to a product that actually sort of does what it is advertised to do!
3) I won a book from a blog contest from the wonderful Oregon Sunshine. I received the book a couple of weeks ago, but have been very negligent in posting about it. It is a book called "Hope Rising" by Kim Meeder, stories from a non-profit horse rescue in Central Oregon. I've been warned that I will need some kleenex while reading, so it sounds like a wonderful book to get into on a cold, damp winters day.4)I'm going to take a break from this blog for awhile. I think just until after Christmas, but we'll see. I just don't have much going on and I'm having a hard time coming up with stuff to write. I'm also stressed out and tired, so a break will give me a chance to get things sorted out. I'll still be writing over at Cowboys Love Fat Calves with that wonderful group of ladies, as some of my stress is from health and fitness issues. I still plan to keep reading and commenting, since I don't think I could stay away from horse blogs for too long! :-)
Happy trails!

Enjoy your break, and come back refreshed!
Thanks for the reminder of your other blog. I had it on the sidebar for my blog when it was private and I never put it into my RSS Feed when it became public, but I'm a follower now.
Kiss Rusty from me please!!! And don't stay away too long ;)
Glad to hear Rusty's doing well. It's a good time to take a break before Christmas. I could use one too, there's just so much to do and not enough time. Enjoy your break and feel better.
Enjoy your time away, and please come back!! We will miss you while you are gone!
Hope you have a great break and awesome Christmas! Keep your chin up girly and be sure to stop by and say hi when you can:)
