My Blogging Space

I can't resist a tag, so I'm posting pictures of my blogging space thanks to pony girl's suggestion!

The first picture is of my home work space. We have hijacked our dining room as our office. Richard and I both sit in hard wooden chairs. Even though I have a nice laptop, I can't sit with it on the couch/bed because I get dizzy. Go figure!

On the left, my personal assistant and secretary, Mr. Kitty. He is very helpful - especially with scheduling naps and eating elastics. In the center is my lovely red Dell laptop. To the right is my ever present glass of water and some crackers. In the back is the hubby, Richard. Behind him is a lot of bike stuff. Richard sells/repairs/upgrades road/triathlon bikes in his spare time. Part of my house is like a bike shop. Kinda fun.

I occassionally check blogs at work on my lunch break, so I thought I'd post a picture of that as well. My home picture is fairly tidy - I just cleaned up piles of papers on Sunday. The picture of my desk will give you a good idea of the typical mess...

Edited to add: blogger posted the work picture really small, so it is hard to read the text. I have tonnes of stuff on my desk - papers, notebooks, crazy coloured sticky notes, blank cds/dvds, dvds of photos (I'm a webmaster/photographer/graphic designer/jack of all trades kind of person), memory cards, card readers, etc. etc. Because I am stuck at my desk all day, I have all kinds of pictures posted everywhere - half are horse related, half are family/travel picutres. Those things are the reasons why I work, so I keep them there as reminders to cheer me up. I also have a care bear and a little stuffed RCMP horse hiding out on the top shelf. On the left I also have my APHA calendar, guess I need to buy an Appy one next year!

Fun idea, Pony Girl!!

Great pictures of your work space. Love your assistant.I have two Australian Sheperds that assist me by laying on my feet or next to my chair on either side so I cannot move once I'm in the chair.

Hey Laura, thanks for sharing your space! I wish I had a secretary like Mr. Kitty! ;) By the way, I am also thankful to see that I am not the only one out there that sits on a wooden chair while I am at the computer, lol!
The red wall in your dining room is fabulous, too!

What do you do at work that requires what looks like 3 computers. I have a hard enough time keeping up with one. I forgot to take my picture of my workspace last night and I even cleaned off my desk.
Thanks for the advice on the camera settings. I knew that but had forgot. Sometimes I think the camera has too many buttons. haha

Everyone should have a furry assistant of some sort - they are so helpful! :-)

I am a webmaster for the government - one computer has 2 screens - it makes it easier to work on web layouts and with graphics software. That computer has full internet access to do web stuff and the other computer is my work email computer, basically - it has a lot of security restrictions because of the department I work for. So, I get two - it's great for confusing people. Everyone thinks my work is very complicated. lol

LOL Two systems would be complicated to me! hehehe...

Great home space. Dont suppose you would want to trade a Jane Doe Puppy for Mr Kitty at all...? ;) (Just kidding!!) I'm with Pony Girl- that wall looks fantastic. Nice touch!

Sorry everyone - Mr. Kitty isn't going anywhere. I have him well trained and I imagine it would be hard to find another assistant with his experience. I also rescued him as a baby and fed him with an eyedropper. I'm a bit attached to him.

I should do a post about him - he is pretty funny.

Ha! Great post. And here's to having husbands/significant others who treat home like a bike repair shop! I'm totally on the same page with that one.

Mr. Kitty and my cat should have a meeting sometime so he can share his elastic-eating skills and she can lecture him in the fine art of pooping in out-of-sight places and making me track it down. She's trying to enhance my sense of smell, apparently. On second thought, maybe that's a skill you don't really require of your assistant. :\

I agree - like your assistant!

Nice work space - I struggle to keep mine up.

Of course jumping on the computer at during the summer is almost out of the question as I have so much going on. Since our summers are so short up here I spend every second I can outside - in the garden, with the horses, running with the dogs, camping, fishing or at the lake. The only thing that makes me stay inside is rain - then I have to clean cause I have been outside so much.

Great idea. I don't have a camera but I do most of my bloggin at work. I have a small dark office with one window that is about 4 feet next to a brick building so I get no sunlight at all, so when I'm bored or need a beak I blog or surf the net.

I also blog a little at my parents house but the computer is in the living room in a pretty open space and I HATE when people read over my shoulder.

But when I'm at home my 2 mutt dogs and my black cat keep a watchful eye on me and sometimes my cat will even try and type as he walks over the key board!
