I'll miss Jackson, he was a decent guy. Too bad it didn't work out for us. I owned him for almost a year - between 2 accidents/injuries - 1 his, 1 mine, my trust and confidence was shot. I tried to ride him again, but I just didn't have the right personality to work with him. His new junior rider is putting him to work - she has him trail riding, galloping all over the place and working over fences. I hope they have fun together. He is staying at my barn, so I'll get to see that he is well-taken care of.
Name That....

I'm sorry that you are horseless. It's worth the time and effort to find a suitable new horse. With the right horse, and some coaching, you'll establish a happy relationship and enjoy riding out again. It just all looks a bit daunting from the start point.
**hugs** Sounds like you & Jackson had a similar experience as Quinn & I. I'm picking him up from the trainer's this week. Much as I hate to say it she & I are both wondering if he's one of those horses that just needs a man to own him. All the naughty stuff he pulls is always with a woman handling him. :(
TH - thanks - I'm looking at an older gentleman - a 16 yr old appy gelding. He seems to suit my needs, just need to vet check him to make sure there aren't any major problems.
cdncowgirl - thanks... Too bad about Quinn havign to come home. Funny enough, my (former) horse worked terribly with men and just fine with ladies - strange creatures!! Hope you can find a buyer for him soon!
I think I may try some of the feedlots. Even if someone just wants to use him for the summer, at least then I'm not paying board!
And he is a nice using and a very good looking horse so maybe someone will want to buy him! (assuming he behaves lol)
So the Appy testing must be going well if you're talking about a vet check! Yay!!
Good luck on the Appy vet check! You'll find something soon if that not the one for you.
If you get him we want to see pictures soon...
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I am glad most of my childhood memories are of happy times with my horses - it was until later in my life that I went through some very unhappy painful stuff that I am not ready to blog further about.
Sorry to hear you sold your horse Jackson, but it sounds like the perfect situation, as you still get to see him at the stable. It sounds like his new girl is enjoying him!
I hope you get the Appy! ;) I am a bit biased, lol!
