September is alway a busy month here in littlekeebler land. There are 4 birthdays - mine (not until the end of the month), Richard's, a close friend's and my mother-in-laws - so lots of cards to send and gifts to shop for.
This year, my step-son, who is 17 (ack!) has moved in with us, so we had to deal with getting him set up at a new high school for his last year. That has proved to be a little more tough than we thought...having someone move into your house full time is a little strange. He normally just stayed with us on the weekends, but his mom packed up and left town with her new boyfrriend. We as a family are very different from the mom's side of the family, so it has been an adjustment for us all.

September also has some sad memories for me and even as the years roll on, I can't help but take time to remember my Dad, who died when I was 14. It will be 20 years this week - I won't go on about it - I don't mean to dig for symapthy - it happened a long time ago. My Dad was a big supporter of all the hobbies my brother and I tried. He was an avid horse holder at shows and an excellent stall-mucker. He helped me alot and I was pretty angry when he died, leaving me with 3 horses to take care of on my own. But, I managed and become a stronger person because of it... It would also be my parent's anniversary this month, so I have to be extra sensitve about all of this when I talk to my Mom.

OK - enough blah stuff. Time for something silly. I had asked my personal asisstant, Mr Kitty* to draw up a spreadsheet on all of the pros and cons from the five barns that I mentioned a few days ago. When you are faced with making a difficult decision, a spreadsheet is the way to go, right? Well, my assisstant had other thoughts. I just got this blank stare when I asked him. Rotten beast. I should really have checked his contract more closely.

I love your office help there. He has a point about the thumbs, but he has a TAIL. I am SURE he could use that TAIL for something aside from swishing it at you when he is irritated! LOL
Good luck settling in your now-son too. Thats a hard age for a change like that. I hope that things all settle in smoothly for all of you there!
And happy birthday in advance! September was a great month to be born wasnt it? ;) (My b'day is this month too!)
Keep Dad in your heart- that way he can always be there for you when you need him.
Have an amazing day there, and how goes the barn chat???
And he IS cute as a button.
Are you Polish?
I sympathize with you on the anniversary of your dear father's passing. The anniversary of my own mother's death was last month. She died when I was 8 yrs old.
But I don't have as many fond memories of her as you do, because she was totally overtaken by emotional suffering.
She hardly even noticed me. Your Dad sounds like he was a proud supporter of you.
It's hard when happy occasions occur during the same time as sad moments or memories, isn't it?
I'm so sorry.
So, when is your birthday?
I just want to thank you again for the wonderful birtdhay wishes you gave me on my blog last week. You are very sweet :)
So, get that spread sheet going and let us all know what you're thinking. :)

I wouls send the Piddle Rats to help but they would just chew the box to shredds and leave a mess. Your PA looks far more civilized than mine.
If i may offer some words of advice...I, too work with an assistant (Rory) who (how shall i put this delicately) can be a bit of a slacker. From the photo of Mr Kitty, i can see that he is sly, clever, and is used to working his magic on you. You must be strong and resist his propensities! Good luck.
Mr Kitty totally suits his "real name" :) (heh heh, I noticed the Amazon.ca box... I'm a regular shopper there too!)
And happy early 34th!!
I know you don't want to go into details so I'll just pass on a **hug** and say I'm sorry you lost your dad. :(
Even though your assistant is a slacker, are we going to hear about the barns?
Mrs. Mom - you are so right about the tail! That must be good for something...lol
Twinville - no, I'm not Polish, my friend who was at my place when I brought him home was and she named him. Thanks for the nice comments on my Dad and so sorry about your Mom - that must have been unbelievably tough!
Cdn - thanks... :-) I might as well just give my credit card to amazon.ca, I buy so much stuff!
20 meter - he just looks civilized, but it's all an act! lol
Saddle mtn - thanks - he is very sly! I pay the food bills though, so he has to behave a bit! lol
