One of those days..

I feel a bit defeated today - I'm tired and frustrated with things in general. I'm on my 4th pair of shoes today - each pair kills my feet. My co-workers must think I'm nuts as the pile of shoes under my desk grows and grows - barefoot is next. I wore a new red vest today over my white shirt and my white shirt is now pink because the material of the vest rubbed off. *sigh* It's just one of those days.

I'm really second-guessing myself and worrying about my next horse purchase. I do love horses and riding and want to stick with it. The gelding I tried last night met alot of my criteria, with a couple of minor exceptions. I'm just so hesitant to buy again in case I'm stuck with a horse I don't like/can't ride in a few months like last time. The owner and her daughter seem really up front and honest though, so I think I'm getting the real story on him at least.

So, feeling all grumpy, I decided to check out a few blogs for inspiration - I read Callie's post about why she loves her life and it made me realize I was worrying about all of the small things. I do have a great life and lots of things to be grateful for - so chin up, Laura and move on.

I'm going to ride that gelding again on the weekend - maybe test him out in my western saddle and see if it fits him ok. He has high withers, so it'll be a bit trickier to fit saddles on him, I'm guessing. I'm also going to ask to take him out for a short hack, to see how he does.

Ick I hate "those" kind of days. I wish I could go barefoot now, but it's hot and sticky out and my feet smell from being in sandals:-x

Hope your day/ week get better.

Thanks Denise! :-)

I've managed to find a pair of shoes in my under-the-desk pile that don't kill me, so for the sake of my co-workers, I've kept them on. lol

They sure suck when we have them but if we didn't have the bad days we'd lose appreciation for the good ones!
As far as horses go... I think I'd give that one another look, esp if you can take him out for a bit of a hack.
I'm mulling over a horse decision right now too. If you have time to peek at my blog I'd like your opinion!

Hmmm....

Hey cheer up, I know how it goes when life heads in that direction. It just messes us horse people all up because our goals, social events, and futures are all planned out based on our horses. When a horse doesn't work out and we are searching for another one or are stuck without one it just messes up our whole since of being.

While you are horse shopping, re-invest some time into some other non-horse related activity something that you are good at that makes you feel good.

For me that's either art or drawing.

You'll start feeling better as soon as you get another horse lined up.

Cdncowgirl - you're right about the good/bad days and having a second look at the appy gelding. I'm having a bit of a hard time with him not being as "pretty" as I had hoped - but looks shouldn't really matter - it's all about having fun and building confidence, right??? :-)

Stephanie - good tip - I think I'm going out for a bike ride today - the weather is finally decent around here. Sadly I can only draw stick figures, so art is out for me. LOL

Sorry about the frustration.
Hope you're feeling better.

Can't wait to read more about your horse buying adventure. It can be stressful because it's so expensive, not just in money, but in time, emotions and future budgeting.

Good luck!
